Gerald Ford, former President, has died at 6:45 pm on Tuesday at his desert home. He was the nation's 38th President and only non-elected to the office. He was also Vice-President under Richard Nixon before Nixon resigned amid the Watergate Scandal. Funeral announcements are scheduled for today.

Illegal Immigration! Stop it Now!

1. 40% of all workers in L.A. County ( L.A. County has 10.2 million people) are working for cash and not paying taxes. This was because they are predominantly illegal immigrants, working without a green card.

2. 95% of warrants for murder in Los Angeles are for illegal aliens.

3. 75% of people on the most wanted list in Los Angeles are illegal aliens.

4. Over 2/3 of all births in Los Angeles County are to illegal alien Mexicans on Medi-Cal, whose births were paid for by taxpayers.

5. Nearly 25% of all inmates in California detention centers are Mexican nationals here illegally.

6. Over 300,000 illegal aliens in Los Angeles County are living in garages.

7. The FBI reports half of all gang members in Los Angeles are most likely illegal aliens from south of the border.

8. Nearly 60% of all occupants of HUD properties are illegal.

9. 21 radio stations in L.A. are Spanish speaking.

10. In L.A. County 5.1 million people speak English. 3.9 million speak Spanish. (There are 10.2 million people in L.A. County).

Less than 2% of illegal aliens are picking our crops, but 29% are on welfare. Over 70% of the United States' annual population growth (and over 90% of California , Florida , and New York ) results from immigration. The cost of immigration to the American taxpayer in 1997 was, (after subtracting taxes immigrants pay), a NET $70 BILLION/year, [Professor Donald Huddle, Rice University ]. The lifetime fiscal impact (taxes paid minus services used) for the average adult Mexican immigrant is a NEGATIVE number. 29% of inmates in federal prisons are illegal aliens. If they can come to this country to raise Hell and demonstrate by the thousands, WHY can't they take charge over the corruption in their own country? Environmentalists, Weather, What is Going On?

A common theme lately is that Global Warming and Weather patterns are changing and the culprit, according to the liberals, is man. That's right, you and me. The problem with that is quite simple. We have not been tracking weather patterns and conditions long enough to have ANY kind of idea of what is going on. Now, don't get me wrong, I'm not saying there couldn't be problems. My issue is that all over the T.V. are so-called experts stating that greenhouse gases and other pollutions are causing our weather conditions to get worst, the polar ice caps are melting, animals are dying, Earth is dying, etc. etc. etc. Remember the Ozone Layer? That was going bye-bye as well. Now we have learned that ozone replenishes itself. How is that? Very simple: Earth regenerates.

Unlike a lot of conservatives I do believe that we should examine our pollution and the things we put into the environment, but I have real issues with environmentalists and scientists who do not have concrete proof state that we are in trouble. I think a lot more study is necessary.

Teens Getting High on Legal Drugs?

On CNN.com today there is a report that Teenagers in America are getting high on legal drugs. I also saw a brief story about this on the news as well. What is going on? While numbers for illegal drugs and underage drinking was down over the counter meds were on the rise. Maybe parents aren't giving their kids unlimited supplies of money anymore so they have resorted to cough syrup? Either way, we need to educate are kids more on the problems of abusing any kind of drug.

End Legislating from the Bench!

Judges are supposed to interpret the law. Yet, for whatever reason, we are now allowing Judges to press their opinions onto America with no recourse. Maybe it is time to start making judges accountable for their actions. Before the judicial branch of our government becomes a secondary legislative we must wrangle in these judges. If a judge is shown to be legislating from the bench then impeachment proceedings can occur. It is not hard to deliniate between interpretation and legislating. The liberal agenda is getting more and more of a foothold because of judges. Stop the insanity now.

Article III states that "The Judges, both of the Supreme and inferior Courts, shall hold their offices during good behavior," and it is not "good behavior" to hand down rulings based on personal social views rather than the Constitution's words.

Taking Back America! Item-Line Veto.

Again, we focus on topics that are not new to Americans, but for whatever reason the Republican party has abandoned its principles. You may recall with the Contract with America an item line veto that allows the President to cross out amendments of bills instead of vetoing the entire legislation.
This would allow earmarks, special interest projects, and add ons to bills that have nothing to do with the original bill being proposed. Why is this not a good idea I ask our government? Why has Congress not adopted this idea? What would be holding them back? Liberals and Conservatives alike should easily see how this concept would be a great idea in wrangling spending and special interests. Write your Senator and Congressman today!

This whole topic is one that will never make sense to me. How a line-item veto is unconstitutional is beyond me. How is adding a million amendments that have nothing to do with the original bill constitutional? Its not!

Set Term Limits Now!

Progress for taking back America!

This idea was proposed by the Contract with America back in 1994. The idea of term limits makes running for politics a short civil service and not a career. Why does this not make sense to Americans? Think about it for a minute. If we would only allow people who run for public office a set amount of time maybe they would work harder to get things accomplished sooner. You may see me use Ted Kennedy as an example a lot, but he is a poster boy for term limits. What does Kennedy do for America? Nothing. He is useless. Politics should not be a lifelong career unless you run for many different offices. The problem is we are looking at Senators and Congressman who have been in power for decades. A fresh prospective is vital for running government. We have entrenched corruption and special interests because of career politicians. We must end this now.

My proposal is simple. 4 terms for congress, 2 terms for senate. There is no room for debate. Term limits must be established.

20/20 did a recent show on who would donate more money between Sioux Falls, SD and San Francisco, CA. Guess who won? Sioux Falls baby. Not only more per capita, but more in money as well. It wasn't just in those locations. All "Red" States donate more money to charity. What do you think of that? I know. You want the government to be the one taking care of people. Get real.

SD Senator (D) Tim Johnson has been hospitalized recently due to a birth defect that caused bleeding on the brain. While this story would probably make headlines in the Midwest it seems to have ballooned nationally. Why? The liberal media is freaking out! Oh my goodness. SD is a "Red State." The governor, Mike Rounds, would probably appoint a Republican to fulfill Johnson's duties if he were to resign. Oh NO! Lets make this a major story so it can be a rally cry if it happens.
Why don't we think about Tim Johnson, who is genuinely a very good guy. I went to college with one of his son's and they are a great family even if I don't agree with their politics. I know that I wish him the best in recovery...I wish the media would too.

The National Debt - Is It Okay?

Currently the National Debt is hovering at 8 trillion 6 hundred billion and change. So what's the deal? Is it out of control? Should we pay it back?
During most of my studies of Economics I have always taken the stance that a national debt, while it isn't necessarily a good thing, was okay. As long as the GDP continues to grow exponentially did it really matter if we were in debt? Initially I believed no. Now, though, my thoughts have changed dramatically. Why do you ask? Our debt is no longer our own.

The Culture of Poverty

One of the biggest jokes in our world today is social programs. While I do understand the intention behind them it is quite clear that programs such as welfare have only created a culture of poverty in the mind of the poor. It is not just a race issue, but a mindset problem that exists now because of generations of social programs. Welfare programs were intended to be short term to help the poor with the means to better their situation, but now we see families extend the welfare support for decades. Children are being born and taught that the government should take care of them the rest of their lives. What will this accomplish? Nothing.
Why not spend all of the money on these social programs and feed it into the education system. The only true solution to ending poverty is through education. If we could eradicate the culture of poverty that exists in the poor today we would see an end to the social programs in the future.

Abolish Socialized Education and the Department of Education!

The Great Experiment! Converting Education.
The United States of America was founded on freedom principles like a free market society, but one of our beadrock programs has been socialist since day one. Why? In South Dakota alone 55 cents of every dollar collected goes to education expenses. Just think of the tax decrease we would see if we privatized the education system in America. Currently about 90% of schools are public and 10% private. Lets flip that around so that the government only controls the really lacking schools so enough money can go into these institutions to get them out of the cultural poverty that exists. Then the other schools have to now run themselves as businesses where teacher pay would increase, education would increase, and the overall education system as whole would grow to the betterment of our children. Competition works in all facets if done correctly. Lets implement this strategy in our schools.
Just imagine if our property taxes went down over half. I believe that parents who are able would be willing to pay the money necessary for their kids to go to a strong school for elementary, middle and high school. Schools would be forced to compete by paying teachers more, have high test scores, and provide programs beyond the norm to attract these students. These new days where P.E., music, and art programs are being dumped would be over because schools would need these programs to attract students beyond just the academic programs available.
Now remember, at first it would be a difficult transition. In time you would see dramtic changes that would spell success for our kids and our country in the future. The only hurdle would be overcoming the liberals complaining about the one school system that tries to cheat on scores or the struggling transition that would occur initially because change is hard. Nevermind that our schools are failing now. Democrats would be in an uproar the minute things don't go perfect...sound familiar. War on Terror anyone?

Salary Increase Averted! Amazing! Oh wait, just a Ploy.

As the lame duck session of congress expired the Democrats of all people stopped Congress from increasing pay for Congressional Representatives until the minimum wage is increased. Minimum wage? Are you kidding me? Has it not been shown yet that the minimum wage does NOTHING? Let me give you an example: here in Sioux Falls, SD where the mean income per family is around $30,000 most minimum wage jobs start at $8 per hour and sometimes up to $10. What would raising the minimum wage do? How about helping small businesses out so that they can flourish so that paying their employees is more possible than pushing it upon them by laws. Get real people...it should be a requirement that every kid take Economics 101 in High School and a year in College. If we start learning how an economy runs maybe we will start seeing how these laws do nothing but hurt an economy. Get real.

Midterm Elections a Joke!

If there was any message by voters it was "what a joke." Our government has become useless to the people. The government is set up for big business, special interests, and social programs for everything. What happened to small government, power to the people, and a free market economic system? They are all dead. If the people of the U.S. do not rise up and change the system the system will continue to damage what our constitution was written for: freedom.
